- Private vacation home
Years ago, when I was looking for a home on the island I came across this property. When I walked up the front steps for the first time, I entered into a peaceful little wonderland. Set up high on a sand dune surrounded by trees, this property is the ideal calming hideaway. Set smack dab in the middle of town, it is walking/cycling distance to nearly everything in Emerald Isle. It is 1 block from the sound and about 7 blocks to the ocean.

Booking the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect vacation home in Emerald Isle:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Island Treehouse has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
