Strategies for getting the best Havelock rental home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Finding the best vacation home in Beaufort:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Starfish DOG-FRiENDLY in the Historic District has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your contract.

- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
