Finding the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the perfect Havelock vacation home:

  • Start by having your group agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Walk to beaches from 2nd floor 2 bed 2 bath apt has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Havelock beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
