Our top Vacation rental home tips:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Reserve your Havelock rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best rental in the Havelock area:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Walk to beaches from 2nd floor 2 bed 2 bath apt has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
