Getting the best Havelock vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. To get the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Cozy cottage near the waterfront (Pet Friendly) has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular Havelock destination you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
