Finding the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanside Condo with family friendly amenities! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's an individual Havelock attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
