Tips to get the optimal Havelock vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Havelock vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • To start, have your family decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Sea Spray 201 - Walk to the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Havelock attraction you crave, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
